Billye, boys and Mike, August 2008

Hello classmates! I am very disappointed that I will not be able to attend our 50th Reunion. The activities sound so interesting and very-well planned thanks to the hard-working committee.

Life is good….has just required modifications the past couple of years. My husband and I were thrown a few curveballs with his health issues, but we are still at the plate and swinging! We currently live on Whidbey Island during the good-weather months. My address is: 4276 Wateredge Drive, Langley, WA 98260, ERYE@aol.com, (206) 914-1943. This coming fall we will be looking to exchange our condo in town to one in Maryland for part of the year to be nearer our son who works for Under Armour in Baltimore as head of basketball development and his wife who is a nurse and our three grandsons. Our daughter-in-law will direct us to some of the best medical facilities in the country for my husband’s challenging health issues, and we look forward to being spectators at our grandsons’ sporting events.

I will miss saying “hello” to so many of you that I have such fond memories of…just to mention a few like Jack Glover, Duke Campbell, Dave Warren, John Ehlers, Bill Johnson, Gary Eubanks, Art Bruce and joining all of you to give farewells to our friends and classmates that have departed ….thinking of those I was closest to like Craig Guse, Don Ott, Chuck Rathbun and now Randy Free. Greetings also to Margaret Toner, Margaret Ehrig, Judy Fatur, Janice McGahey, Mary Mike Hartnett, Doris VanReenan, Janet Hylbak, Vicky Fitzgerald, Tobe Roberts and many others. And, of course, I regret that I will miss the opportunity to spend time with my very best friends from high school…..Gloria Davis and Beth Pederson. I’m sure we could all pick up right where we left off! I will also miss seeing you, Bruce Smith…..hope all is well with you and yours.

My Mother passed away in 1997 and my eldest brother, Ray, in 2004, and I still lease his condo in Richland. I haven’t been there for about 5 years now when I noted so many changes in our hometown—especially along the river.

Billye and boys

I will be thinking of all of you as you listen and dance to the music of the 50’s and 60’s….those songs we hoped would be dedicated by a ‘secret admirer’ on the radio song-request program—does anyone else remember that program? Have a wonderful weekend, take lots of pictures, and I hope someone will share them with me. Go Bombers! Billye Conley Drew
